Share launches new training course to support organisations engaging young people

Following on from the success of the first Young Housing Professionals conference and furthering its work on supporting holistically the succession planning for staff and committee/board members, Share is delighted to launch a new training course, designed to help organisations reflect on and re-assess how they are engaging young people in their communities.

Share’s learning and development officer, Julie-Ann Cloherty, said: “We have seen so much amazing talent, enthusiasm and energy come up through the Young Housing Professionals Network and the Modern Apprenticeship programme, that we know that there are young people out there in our teams and in our communities that can make great contributions to the future of our sector, if we have the right approach. There is quite a lot of unfair negative press around younger generations right now, but we want to dispel these myths and make sure everybody can work together to the benefit of our organisations, our communities and ultimately our sector.”

The session will be led by community engagement specialist Jonathan Giddings-Reid, who will draw upon his vast experience to lead a fast-paced, interactive and engaging guide to working with and creating opportunities for young people in your communities. The session will draw upon good practise from different sectors and countries and equip attendees to create an action plan for their organisation.

Suitable for both staff and committee/board members, this new session promises to inspire all attendees to look beyond so-called generational divides and harness the innovation and enthusiasm that working with young people can bring for their organisation.

Spaces are limited, to book your place, click HERE. Looking to work on this as a group or organisation? This session can be adapted to be delivered in-house and tailored to your organisation’s needs. If this would suit better, please email info@share.org.uk to enquire.
