Share: Let’s make 2025 the year to master wellbeing in our organisation
Training organisation Share highlights its upcoming Workplace Wellbeing Conference.
“What does it all mean?” As a topic, workplace wellbeing can provoke strong reactions, whether wild enthusiasm or dramatic eye rolls. But the vast majority of people sit somewhere in the middle; looking to make their workplace the best place it can be, appreciating the pressures of the job and modern life and wanting to ensure that work plays a healthy and fulfilling role in an employee’s sense of self.
This can however seem woolly and abstract, and the very nature of wellbeing means that it differs from person to person, organisation to organisation, across genders, generations and geographies.
So how we come to mark out some parameters for our wellbeing work is the focus of Share’s very first workplace wellbeing conference. This concise half-day event has been developed to tackle some of the biggest issues in wellbeing, helping organisations come to their own conclusions on what works best for them.
We will start the day defining our terms, Emma Wiley from ACS is a fellow wellbeing enthusiast and Health and Safety expert who sees wellbeing as sitting comfortably under the H&S umbrella of employer duties. Emma understands that people are often a bit lost when it comes to being specific when we talk about wellbeing concepts and defining our data points as a framework for successful organisational strategy, and will guide us through some key definitions and decisions as we develop or hone our wellbeing approach.
Our second keynote, TEDx speaker and mental health professional Petra Velzeboer will discuss one of the most common current workplace issues in wellbeing and beyond – burnout. Burnout is fast becoming one of the major challenges for workplaces across the globe, affecting retention, productivity and cohesion, with the majority of employees reporting signs of burnout in the last year. But it is not inevitable, and employers should know how to spot the signs, stop and reverse the trend towards burnout and build a culture of care within their organisations.
Our workshops choices will explore two crucial keys to successful wellbeing strategies: equipping leaders with the tools to have meaningful and effective wellbeing conversations and adapting your wellbeing approach to engage different ages and generations within the workplace.
Our conference concludes by asking why are we all so tired? Brian Costello, founder of Headstrong will conclude by challenging us to walk the talk on wellbeing in our workplace, discussing the four sources of mental fatigue that are sapping the energy from our teams and workplaces, challenging us to check and change our approach to caring for ourselves and others as we head into 2025.
Delegates will leave the conference with a sharper sense of purpose and direction on their organisation’s wellbeing journey, empowered to have difficult conversations and encourage others to, having built their own networks and made connections with others who undertake this rewarding but sometimes lonely role.
Whether your organisation is at the start of a wellbeing journey, is yet to embark or is well established, this conference will provide valuable learning and networking opportunities that your teams can benefit from all year through, to book your space, click HERE.
