SHARE’s Governing Body Retreat returns
SHARE is delighted to announce its next residential conference is taking place in September at the Seamill Hydro.
Previously two separate conferences, the ‘Chairs’ Retreat’ and ‘Governing Body Exchange’ have now combined into one showpiece event: The Governing Body Retreat.
The previous conferences were always a favourite amongst Chairs’, Vice-Chairs and Committee/Board members. Merging the two events will go a long way to ensuring they remain informed and ensure that they are meeting their regulatory requirements. It will also allow for greater discussion and networking opportunities whilst also considering the current financial climate that we are all facing.
The theme of the conference is ‘Securing the Future of Community-based Housing Associations’ and will be addressing current topics such as the importance of local services, digital trustees, sustainable development, building resilience within your Committee/Board and much more.
There will also be a chance for Chairs and Vice-Chairs to attend a Chairs’ Breakout session where the speaker will look at some of the challenges Chairs are facing in the current climate, and the importance of networking to increase experience and sustain what can be a lonely and high-pressure position.
We look forward to seeing some familiar faces and welcoming new ones. This year we are also pleased to be able to offer a day delegate option for the conference for those that are unable to attend the full event.
The Governing Body Retreat takes place on the 5th to 6th September 2023 at the Seamill Hydro.
