Shelter Scotland launches LGBTQ+ housing support hub
Housing and homelessness charity Shelter Scotland has launched new online resources specifically tailored to the needs of LGBTQ+ individuals.
The pages provide guidance for LGBTQ+ people seeking to access homelessness services, and signposts to other organisations able to provide support.
It also offers practical tips for people looking to access LGBTQ+ friendly housing.
Shelter Scotland director Alison Watson said: “The housing emergency is devastating the lives of LGBTQ+ people. Scotland’s housing system isn’t just broken; it’s biased as well.
“LGBTQ+ people can face discrimination in their search for a home and too often find themselves living at the sharp end of the housing emergency.
“These new pages are designed to provide people with helpful information on finding LGBTQ+ friendly housing in Scotland, and to equip LGBTQ+ people facing homelessness with the tools they need to defend their housing right.”
