Shire Housing Association celebrates achievements at AGM
Shire Housing Association celebrated another successful year at its recent Annual General Meeting.
Lorne Campbell, the Association’s chairperson, outlined the continued transformation of the Association in meeting its business vision of “Great Homes, Great People, Vibrant Communities”.
The achievements in 2018/19 included the completion of a staff restructure creating five new posts and making changes to a number of other job descriptions to better support the Association’s Business Plan.
Shire also won the Ayrshire Chamber of Commerce Excellence in Customer Service Award and was shortlisted as a finalist in the Business Excellence Ayrshire Award.
It also participated in innovative partnership work with a number of East Ayrshire secondary schools and the wider community.
Ms Campbell stated: “2018/19 saw the association deliver high-quality services and strengthen partnership working with our communities. Whilst we still face significant challenges across many of our communities, we are confident we will meet these challenges in 2019/20 and beyond.”
The AGM showcased partnership work with Doon Academy Secondary school, Being There Media and the Ayrshire Chamber of Commerce Developing Young Workforce initiative.
The project involved pupils creating marketing videos about the Association’s housing stock and the village of Bellsbank, Dalmellington.
The AGM also confirmed the re-election of Hugh Carr, Laura Murphy, Alexander Rae and Ross Morris to the management board.
Stuart Murray joined the board as a full member having been co-opted in January 2019.
The meeting thanked Terry Bardell for her contributions as she stepped down from the management board at the AGM.
