Six star quality rating for Kingdom’s support and care services
Staff at Kingdom Support and Care CIC (KSC), who support 250 vulnerable people to live in the community in Fife and Falkirk, are celebrating attaining a six star quality rating in their first Care Inspection as a newly established Community Interest Company.
The Care Inspection Officer also described the wholly-owned subsidiary of Kingdom Housing Association as a “sector leader”.
The services were evaluated on Quality of Support and Care, Quality of Staffing and Quality of Management and Leadership, receiving combined grades of five 6s (excellent) and four 5s (very good).
Shona Laird, support and care manager for James Bank Homelessness service in Dunfermline and services throughout East and Central Fife, said: “I am absolutely delighted with our grades; we pride ourselves on providing quality person centred support. Supporting people to achieving their personal outcomes is one of our key objectives which are reflected in our gold standard grades!”
Heather Simpson, support and care manager for services in Falkirk and West Fife, added: “I am immensely proud of our staff teams who are key to us achieving these high grades. Kingdom Support and Care is an organisation committed to continuous staff training and personal development which enables us to deliver the best service possible to the people we support.”
With further service developments planned in the coming year, Shona and Heather are “Going for Gold” with aspirations of a full set of 6s!
Bill Banks, Kingdom Group chief executive, congratulated Shona and Heather on the recent gradings, and said: “Kingdom Support and Care was set up as a wholly owned subsidiary of Kingdom Housing Association and only started trading as an independent company in April 2017. To achieve such great results as part of its first Care Inspectorate inspection is a fantastic achievement and the management and staff within KSC should be very pleased and proud of the results.”
He added: “KSC currently provide support and Care services to around 250 supported individuals and have ambitious development and growth plans over the next few years. The exceptional gradings received will aid the development and implementation of the business plan and help them to expand the range of quality services provided.”
