South Ayrshire Council launches consultation on draft Housing Need and Demand Assessment
South Ayrshire Council is looking for the public to have their say on its draft Housing Need and Demand Assessment (HNDA) 2021-2025.
The document could influence housing developments, and how we respond to important issues such as homelessness, over the next five years.
The HNDA will also inform decision-making to support public and private developers in meeting the specific needs of our communities, including housing for older people or those with disabilities.
Councillor Philip Saxton, South Ayrshire Council’s portfolio holder for housing and community wellbeing, said: “We need to ensure that housing across South Ayrshire is fit for purpose and meets the needs of everyone.
“This is not just about bricks and mortar; this is about building communities and to do that effectively we need to listen. I would encourage the public to get involved and help guide our housing policies over the next five years and beyond.”
Feedback captured during this consultation will be used to develop the Local Housing Strategy as well as future Local Development Plans.
The consultation closes on August 20.
