South Lanarkshire Council calls for residents to have say on main strategic plan

Residents of South Lanarkshire are being urged to give their views on the plan that shapes their council’s strategic direction.

The Council Plan, Connect 2022-2027 outlines the vision at the core of the council’s works and sets out its priorities and the outcomes it seeks.

As the plan is halfway through the period it covers, a Mid-Term Review is being carried out to ensure it still meets the needs of local residents and communities, especially taking into account any changing pressures on the council and its services.

Council chief executive, Paul Manning, said: “The Council Plan is our core document and the starting point for all of the policies and plans that provide the framework for the work we do on behalf of our residents.

“At its centre is our vision: to improve the lives and prospects of everyone in South Lanarkshire.

“The plan emerged from the biggest consultation exercise the council has ever undertaken, with more than 3,300 local residents and 28 community organisations taking part and helping us co-design Connect.

“We are now asking our residents and communities to help us once again, by telling us if they continue to agree with our vision, our priorities and our outcomes.”

An online survey will be open until midnight on 4 April 2025 and will take only a couple of minutes to complete.
