South Lanarkshire tenants to have say on council house rents
Council house tenants across South Lanarkshire can now have their say on the level of rents for 2021/22 and what the money will be spent on.
Consultation is underway and all South Lanarkshire Council tenants are being asked to take part in a short online survey.
The consultation closes on December 15.
The rent tenants pay goes towards funding a whole range of housing services that directly affect and benefit them.
Councillor Josh Wilson, chair of the housing and technical resources committee, said: “It is hugely important that decisions on the level of rent are made in consultation with tenants and they take the opportunity to give their views.
“This year has undoubtedly been an unprecedented one for everyone and we recognise that many tenants are feeling the pressures caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and the continuing implementation of the welfare reform programme.
“We will continue to support you through these challenging times and will do our best to continue to deliver high quality, efficient and responsive housing services to you.”
