Springfield Partnerships plans 100 new affordable Harthill homes
Springfield Partnerships has announced plans to build 100 new housing association homes in Harthill, North Lanarkshire.
As part of the Scottish Government’s commitment to deliver at least 50,000 affordable homes across the country by 2021, affordable housebuilding specialist Springfield is planning to invest £13 million to develop the 9.7 acre site.
The housebuilder will host an event where the community can find out more about the proposed plan and give their feedback on March 9 at the Harthill Community Education Centre between 2-7pm.
The project will include two, three and four bedroom homes built within walking distance of the local Alexander Peden Primary School and the Harthill Health Centre.
Springfield Partnerships managing director, Tom Leggeat, said: “This project is at the early design stages and discussions with Housing Association partners are ongoing, but this is a key time in the planning process for the Harthill community.
“We encourage local residents and businesses to come along to the community engagement event to see the plans and let us know their feedback. It’s important to Springfield to hear the views of the local community to help shape the development. This is an opportunity for those who live near the future development, or even those who are on a social housing waiting list for the area, to have their say.
“Harthill is a key location for commuters to both Glasgow and Edinburgh with both the M8 and the Blackridge train station nearby. We are aiming to increase the amount of affordable housing in the area, providing high-quality, energy efficient family homes.”
Further information about the proposed plans will be available at the Community Consultation in March.
