As part of its commitment to working in partnership with local communities, Taylor Wimpey West Scotland has again extended its support to St Vincent’s Hospice in Johnstone with one of its largest donations to date – £11,000 – from its staff and charities committee.

St Vincent’s Hospice, located in Howwood, Renfrewshire, aims to provide access to the best  possible care and support to everyone living with a life-limiting illness in Renfrewshire and North Ayrshire. The Hospice has an 8-bed Inpatient Unit with a multi-disciplinary team to offer the best care that it can; a Day Hospice Service provides support with symptom management, community nurse specialists provide care and support at home, and it provides a range of  supportive services to patients and their families.

Emma Donald, community, corporate and event manager for St Vincent’s Hospice, said: “We are so grateful to the Taylor Wimpey West Scotland team for their continued support of the  hospice. Over the years, they have donated more than £40,000, and this latest donation of  £11,000 provides us with a substantial boost to our funds. This money will go towards the vital  funds needed to allow us to provide meaningful, specialist care to our patients and families when they need it the most.

“Throughout the year, Taylor Wimpey West Scotland staff hold various fundraising events to allow them to donate to a wide range of charities that are important to them personally.
David Blair, managing director for Taylor Wimpey West Scotland, added: “We have been supporting St Vincent’s Hospice for many years now, and we continue to be very proud of how our staff come together to show their support for this incredible charity. Our latest donation of £11,000 is one of our most significant.

“In marking the donation, I was also delighted to have the opportunity to visit the hospice to meet some of the team and to learn more about their vital service to patients and their families.

“Working with local groups and charities is so important to us, and our ongoing support for St Vincent’s Hospice is important to our staff, who work right across the west of Scotland.”
