Members of staff from the Perth-based home-builder Persimmon North Scotland are set to soar over the skies of Glenrothes to raise much-needed funds for the children’s charity, CHAS.

Persimmon North Scotland recently announced CHAS as its charity of the year for the second year running and is looking to beat last year’s impressive fundraising total of £38,000.

With a number of events already under their belt this year, members of staff wanted to hit new heights and set their sights on a charity skydive. Staff members Rebecca Kyle, Louise Scott, Robin Manson, Darren MacKay, and Jason Watson will take flight on Saturday 15 June and hope their bravery will lead to a soaring total for CHAS.

Louise Scott, Persimmon North Scotland’s head of customer care, said: “We know how valuable the work that CHAS does to support families during their most difficult times is and we’re really proud of the amount of money we were able to raise last year to support them.

“This year we wanted to raise the bar and think of new ways to generate much-needed funds for the charity. Hopefully this challenge will show the sky really is the limit and help us boost the amount we’re able to give to Rachel House and other hospices across Scotland.”

CHAS has been offering full family support services for babies, children, and young people with life-shortening conditions for over 30 years. The charity provides a variety of assistance, from palliative care and family respite to support services in hospitals, hospices, and at home.

As well as supporting the charity’s ongoing work across Scotland, the funds raised by Persimmon staff will directly benefit Rachel House Children’s Hospice in Kinross. The facility on Avenue Road has a range of facilities, including a hydrotherapy room, large accessible gardens, and space for both relaxation and fun for families.
