Stewart Milne granted planning permission for 121 homes at Countesswells
Stewart Milne Homes has been granted planning permission for an additional 121 homes at Aberdeen’s newest community at Countesswells.
The new phase from the housebuilder will be known as Jubilee Walk and will comprise of a range of two, three and four bedroom homes.
Work is expected to start on site imminently with the first homes now available for sale.
The new phase of the development follows the success of the first neighbourhood, Regency Place, which is home to over 160 families and boasts extensive landscaped grounds including the Cults Burn Park, a playpark and a community orchard.
High levels of demand have resulted in the build programme being accelerated with homeowners keen to become part of one of Scotland’s most attractive and innovative new towns.
John Low, managing director of Stewart Milne Homes, said: “There has been significant interest in Countesswells since the vision for the community was first unveiled and this has resulted in consistently high levels of sales since our launch almost two years ago.
“We are seeing renewed confidence in the wider Aberdeen market and in response to market demand we are focusing on building a number of smaller homes at Jubilee Walk. We anticipate strong interest in these properties which will further extend the choice available to people wishing to be part of the exceptional new community at Countesswells.”
Countesswells will ultimately accommodate 7,000 people in 3,000 new homes. The 407-acre site will feature expansive green spaces, parklands and civic spaces, together with modern community infrastructure, such as health facilities, commercial and retail space and hyper-fast broadband – 35 times faster than the UK average.
Development of the new community will be phased over 15 years, boosting the local economy and supporting at least 1,000 constructions job and creating new employment opportunities in the area.
