A party was organised for the residents at a Hanover (Scotland) sheltered housing complex in Stewarton to mark a major anniversary in the history of the site.

Residents from Hanover (Scotland)’s Lochhead Court got together to enjoy a special buffet lunch to celebrate 20 years since the development opened. Musical entertainment was provided by local singer Jim Stirrat and residents were also given the chance to get up and perform a few songs.

The honours of cutting the anniversary cake were given to Mr Bill Hood who has lived at Lochhead Court for 20 years and first moved to the development with his wife Agnes who has sadly passed away.

Mr Hood said: “I enjoyed the anniversary party and it was an honour to cut the cake. I moved to Lochhead Court 20 years ago with my wife Agnes and, even though there have been many changes over the years, I have never regretted it.”

Bridget Rutherford, Hanover (Scotland) Lochhead Court development manager, said: “It was fantastic to see everyone come together to celebrate Lochhead Court’s 20th Anniversary. There was such a great sense of community spirit. I hope to do it all again for the next milestone! Jim Stirrat provided a great day’s entertainment which we thoroughly enjoyed. A fantastic day was had by all.”
