Success at Clydebank Housing Association's 39th AGM

Clydebank Housing Association (CHA) has hailed the success of its 39th AGM held at Centre81, its fantastic community centre in Whitecrook.

Held on Thursday 27th June, the event saw CHA’s shareholders given a warm welcome by Catherine Boyle, CHA’s chairperson, who detailed the work staff and management committee members had been doing in the year to focus on the health and wellbeing of our residents alongside investing significantly in tenant’s homes and reviewing key risks facing the organisation.

Shareholders then heard from Joe Farrell, head of housing services, as to how CHA had performed favourably in terms of performance during the year. Joe also advised that tenancy support was a major priority in the year ahead. This ensures that the Association not only meets its targets, but also affords our tenants with a range of support and assistance.

It was then time to hand over to Lynette Lees, chief executive, who reported on the Association’s annual accounts and financial position at the year-end, concluding that CHA‘s finances remain robust with stable cash balances.

Long service awards were then issued to five committee members before Councillor Lawrence O’Neill presented a gift on behalf of Clydebank Provost, Douglas McAllister, to John Hillhouse, on his retirement from the Association’s management committee after 35 years’ service.

Councillor O’Neill said: “John is a shining example of someone who has volunteered selflessly, and his experience, knowledge and dedication will be missed by his fellow members of the management committee, the Clydebank housing staff team and the tenants and residents.”

Catherine Boyle concluded the meeting by acknowledging the hard work of her fellow committee members who carried out their unpaid work diligently and with dedication and thanking the staff team for their hard work throughout the year.

Shareholders, their guests and 20 staff then enjoyed a social event with a fish tea, prize bingo, a few refreshments and a dance to live music.
