Support surges for Housing & Social Care Accessibility Summit

Bookings from Scottish housing associations and councils for this year’s Housing & Social Care Accessibility Summit, to be held at the V&A in Dundee on September 26 and opened by housing minister Paul McLennan, are coming in thick and fast.

Recent bookings for the day-long event, jointly organised by Horizon Housing and Scottish Housing News with sponsorship from Campion Homes, have come from housing associations Bield, Blackwood, Hillcrest, Link, Trust, Yorkhill, Rural Stirling, Eildon, Caledonia, Berwickshire and Scottish Borders as well as Inverclyde Council, North Ayrshire Council and West Lothian Council.

Organisations in the social care sector, from Orkney to Glasgow, have also booked along with several organisations and companies in the construction sector as well as Hub West Scotland and Hub North Scotland who will be in attendance. Leading firms of lawyers and architects have also booked tickets.

Lorna Cameron, chief executive of Horizon, said, “We are very encouraged by the take-up of tickets. Accessible housing issues are closely linked to health and social care issues - we know that getting it right transforms lives. We need joined-up solutions to create a more inclusive and sustainable future in which homes can adapt as people’s needs change.”

Tickets for the full day event, with lunch and coffee breaks provided, can be ordered from SHN editor Kieran Findlay (k.findlay@scottishnews.com) priced £145 plus VAT or for £175 + booking fee via Eventbrite.
