Taylor Wimpey acquires land to deliver 121 homes in Moodiesburn
Taylor Wimpey West Scotland has now acquired land to deliver 121 new homes in Moodiesburn having received planning consent for the development earlier this year.
The development forms a key part of the wider development of the former Stoneyetts Hospital site where detailed planning consent for the development masterplan is already place.
Located off Gartferry Road, Taylor Wimpey West Scotland’s Stoneyetts View will provide 121 new homes in a mix of two and three-bedroom terrace and semi-detached, as well as four-bedroom detached homes to appeal to a wide range of potential buyers. The development has also been designed to create a sense of place and maximises the latest Scottish Government Planning Policy for Designing Streets.
Stoneyetts View will also benefit from the delivery of key infrastructure as part of the masterplan vision for the former hospital site such as new roads, as well as the tranquillity of the existing woodland within the site which will be retained and enhanced with new woodland paths to link to the existing countryside footpath network adjacent to the site.
As part of an existing Section 75 legal agreement with North Lanarkshire Council, the development will also provide financial contributions towards affordable housing, off-site play provision and education.
Caroline Proctor, land and planning director for Taylor Wimpey West Scotland, added: ”We are pleased to have acquired the land required for our Stoneyetts View development, which is located off Gartferry Road, and forms a key part of the wider masterplan of the former Stoneyetts Hospital which was granted detailed planning permission in December 2020.
“Stoneyetts View represents a significant and continued investment in North Lanarkshire by Taylor Wimpey West Scotland. As well playing our part in the delivery of new homes within the masterplan, our development will provide a range of economic benefits for the local area, which includes supporting over 160 jobs per year of construction, as well as the attraction of new customers to local businesses.
“We look forward to working with the local authority and our developer partner to secure the technical consents that are now required to allow our range of new homes to be built as part of the overall vision for this site.”
