Taylor Wimpey East Scotland flies the flag in Penicuik
Taylor Wimpey East Scotland challenged the children living within its Greenlaw Mill development in Penicuik to design a welcome flag for the site.
The winning design by Precious Orjj, aged 10, has been produced into a flag that now flies at the entrance to the development which offers a bright welcome to new visitors, existing customers and homeowners alike. As well as the opportunity to see her design flying high at the development, Precious also won a £50 shopping voucher.
Lyndsay Wood, sales executive at Greenlaw Mill, said: “This was a fun competition that ran throughout the month of May and designed as a bit of a fun alternative to home schooling.
“The weeks of lockdown were undoubtedly challenging for families right across Scotland, and we hope that giving some of our young residents the opportunity to work with us to design a flag to welcome new visitors to their development was an unusual task that kept them busy for a while. From the designs that we received, the children seemed to have enjoyed tackling their brief to create a bold and colourful design.
“We are absolutely delighted with the winning design by Precious, which now flies every day and provides a cheerful welcome to homeowners and new visitors to the development.”
Kirsty McGill, sales and marketing director for Taylor Wimpey East Scotland, added: “Being part of the local communities in which we build our new homes is very important to us. Our fun flag design project acknowledges a sense of community and involvement that we are incredibly proud of at Greenlaw Mill, and we are sure that Precious, her family and friends all feel the same way too.”
