Taylor Wimpey secures permission for next phase at Broomhouse
Taylor Wimpey West Scotland has secured planning permission from Glasgow City Council for the provision of 204 new homes in Broomhouse on the outskirts of Glasgow.
The next phase of development will comprise a range of two, three and four bedroom styles of homes across two parcels of land off Muirhead Road and follows six previous developments at the site of the former Glasgow Zoo.
The development will contribute towards a range of community benefits, which will be delivered as part of the wider masterplan for the area, and ensures that contributions are made to the Broomhouse, Baillieston and Carmyle Community Growth Funds.
These funds will contribute to an indoor and outdoor sports hub, a potential new road bridge over the railway line connecting Bredisholm Road to the north, the provision of a new library or contributions towards improving existing facilities, as well as car parking at Baillieston station.
Stephen Andrew, technical director for Taylor Wimpey West Scotland, said: “Taylor Wimpey is delighted to confirm that we have secured planning consent for the next two parcels of land for development off Muirhead Road in Broomhouse.
“As well as an impressive range of new homes, our development will provide a range of economic and community benefits for the local Broomhouse area including jobs, as well as the attraction of new customers to local businesses.
“We believe this development will be a great addition to our existing and previous phases of development at Broomhouse, and will offer potential buyers access to a great place to call home, that benefits from an exceptional amount of open space and a high range of local amenities. We can confirm that construction will begin as soon as possible, with the first new homes launched for sale later this year.”
