Taylor Wimpey submits detailed plans for Stoneyetts development
Taylor Wimpey West Scotland has submitted detailed plans for the provision of 121 new homes on land that forms a key part of the wider development of the former Stoneyetts Hospital site in Moodiesburn.
The application to amend the current planning consent which has already been secured for the development masterplan has been made by Taylor Wimpey West Scotland to North Lanarkshire Council, in order to outline the detailed proposals for housing mix, landscaping and building materials for its proposed development area.
Located off Gartferry Road, Taylor Wimpey West Scotland’s Stoneyetts View proposes to deliver 121 new homes that will offer a mix of two and three-bedroom terrace and semi-detached, as well as four-bedroom detached homes to ultimately appeal to a wide range of potential buyers.
The development has also been designed to create a sense of place and maximises the latest Scottish Government Planning Policy for Designing Streets.
Stoneyetts View will also benefit from the delivery of key infrastructure as part of the masterplan vision for the former hospital site such as new roads, as well as the tranquillity of the existing woodland within the site which will be retained and enhanced with new woodland paths that will also link to the existing countryside footpath network adjacent to the site.
Colin Blair, technical director for Taylor Wimpey West Scotland, said: ”Our Stoneyetts View development, located off Gartferry Road forms a key part of the wider masterplan of the former Stoneyetts Hospital, which was granted detailed planning permission in December 2020. Our application seeks to provide the details of our proposed range of homes that we hope to deliver here, along with the landscaping and building materials. We look forward to positive discussions with the local authority to allow our range of new homes to be delivered as part of the overall vision for this site.
“Stoneyetts View represents a significant and continued investment in North Lanarkshire by Taylor Wimpey West Scotland. As well playing our part in the delivery of new homes within the masterplan, our development will provide a range of economic benefits for the local area, which includes supporting over 160 jobs per year of construction, as well as the attraction of new customers to local businesses.”
