Taylor Wimpey to deliver affordable new homes in Winchburgh for Home in Scotland
Taylor Wimpey East Scotland has concluded a contract with Home in Scotland to deliver 19 affordable homes for social rent, which will form part of its Seton Rise development and the wider masterplan vision for the new community now emerging in Winchburgh.
The conclusion of this agreement has paved the way for 29 two-bed and 10 three-bedroom terraced and semi-detached homes to be built in the West Lothian village. Work is scheduled to start in the next few months.
Phil Cooper, land and planning director for Taylor Wimpey East Scotland, said: “This latest agreement with Home in Scotland builds on our successful partnership over the last few years to provide an impressive range of 195 affordable homes at our developments in Winchburgh, East Calder, Ratho Station and Maybury, Edinburgh.
“With 69 properties completed at our Calderwood development, 55 nearing completion at our Auldcathie View development in Winchburgh, as well as 47 affordable homes under construction for Maybury and 24 under construction at Ratho Station, we are very proud of the work that we do with Home in Scotland and the contribution that we are making across the local area.
“As one of the largest housebuilders in the UK, we are committed to building more than homes and making sure that we add social, economic and environmental value to the wider communities that we operate in. The delivery of a further 19 affordable homes at Seton Rise is part of that commitment being delivered locally in Winchburgh.
“We expect that construction work on these properties will get underway in the spring of this year, and we aim to be able to hand over the first of our completed properties at this latest development to Home in Scotland early next year.”
Audrey Simpson, director of Home in Scotland, said: “We’re proud to be working with our partners to bring 19 new affordable homes to Winchburgh. This is an opportunity for people to find a place to call home and help us support a strong local community.
“One of Home in Scotland’s core commitments is to deliver the right homes in the right places and in Winchburgh we believe we are achieving that.”
