TC Young retains Legal 500 ranking for social housing
TC Young has been awarded the top ranking for social housing in Scotland in the Legal 500.
Legal 500 has been benchmarking law firm excellence since 1987 and conducts detailed research before ranking firms.
The publication recognises the firm’s depth of knowledge and commitment to the housing sector. Legal 500 states that TC Young is “well-regarded for its strong sector experience and knowledge in the social housing space, attracting an extensive roster of registered social landlord clients”.
Clients also praised the team stating “They have strong sector experience and knowledge, and a good team of staff available to deal with all different types of work”.
Legal 500 also identifies key individuals in the social housing team for their expertise:
• Andrew Cowan and Len Freedman are included in the Hall of Fame
• Lauren Little and Alastair McKendrick are highlighted as leading partners
• Eileen Barr is highlighted as a leading associate
This ranking follows TC Young winning the Legal 500 Real Estate Firm of the Year (Social Housing) in 2024. The firm was also nominated as Legal 500 Real Estate Firm of the Year again this year in addition to nominations for Andrew Cowan for Real Estate Lawyer of the Year and Eileen Barr as Real Estate Rising Star of the Year.
Co-lead of the practice, Alison Brynes, said: “We are thrilled that our commitment and expertise in the Scottish social housing movement has been externally recognised by both our clients and peers. We ensure that the legal advice given by TC Young to the housing sector is second to none. This achievement recognises the depth of knowledge, commitment and dedication of every member of our team.”
