Tenants’ approval rating of Thenue value for money drive soars
Tenants have given Thenue Housing a huge endorsement of its drive to deliver value for money with soaring approval ratings.
At 90% overall satisfaction and 77% saying the Association delivers for value for money, Thenue’s members at the 37th Annual General Meeting heard about the work of the Association over the past year.
Chief executive Charles Turner told members of the Association that the news was contained in its independently carried out survey of tenants which has just been completed.
The thumbs up from tenants is seen as a vindication of Thenue’s drive to convey to customers that delivering value for money remained a top priority.
A good example is the significant level of community regeneration work funded entirely by grants and funding applications with not one penny coming from rents.
Charles said: “This is great news as it reveals that our customers approve of our unrelenting drive to deliver value for money in everything we do.”
The snapshot of the survey given to Members also revealed customer satisfaction with the organisation had edged up slightly from an already-high 89 per cent to 90 per cent.
Charles told the meeting that Thenue had also embarked on a significant housebuilding drive.
He said: “I’m pleased to say that by this time next year around 120 new houses will be either completed or nearing completion – in Castlemilk, Bridgeton and near Glasgow Green.”
Charles also explained that benefit changes – particularly the administration by the UK government of Universal Credit – continued to cause difficulties for a number of Thenue tenants.
Members were informed by the Association’s auditors that Thenue remained on a sound financial footing, with all financial surpluses created being made available for future long-term improvement and modernisation work.
