Tenants gather for annual North Lanarkshire Council conference
It was a successful return for North Lanarkshire Council’s annual Tenants’ Conference after a three-year absence.
Tenants told the local authority it was great being part of an in-person event which lived up to its theme of ‘Connecting Communities’.
Over 100 attendees from across North Lanarkshire gathered at Airdrie Academy to discuss key topics, including the cost-of-living crisis, the supply of new council homes and home energy. Many enjoyed the popular marketplace stalls packed with useful information and advisors on hand to provide advice and giveaways.
Convener of housing, Councillor Heather Brannan-McVey, welcomed guests to the conference.
She said: “It was great to be able to come together and talk face-to-face about some of the key issues facing people and our communities right now.
“Our annual conference always presents a great opportunity for council staff, tenants and residents and a range of partners to come together and highlight our housing plans and services, and for us to hear from our tenants about their experiences. I’d like to thank everyone who came along and hope they enjoyed the event. I’m looking forward to seeing even more tenants take part in the range of opportunities and events our team has planned for next year.”
