The Big Place Conversation to continue across Perth and Kinross
The Big Place Conversation will continue across Kinross-shire, Glenfarg, Almond and Earn, and Strathearn and Strathallan, providing an opportunity for residents to give their views over future development and land use in their communities.
Fossoway Future, led by Fossoway Community Council and Community Development Trust will start the conversations at Elizabeth Wilkie Hall, Crook of Devon from 1pm until 4pm on 21 May, where residents of Fossoway are invited to come along and share their views on topics such as transportation, access to services, employment housing and business development in rural Kinross-shire.
This event and others in the area will help communities like Fossoway to develop their own Local Place Plan and will feed into the new Local Development Plan. Guidance is available for other community groups to hold their own conversation to tell the council their views on their place or to potentially feed into their own local plans.
May and June will see more in-person conversation events, online conversations and drop-in events to take part in throughout Kinross-shire, Glenfarg, Almond & Earn, Strathearn and Strathallan, as well as an online consultation survey for residents to share their views.
Perth and Kinross Council is undertaking this extensive engagement throughout 2023 to inform decisions about the future of places people live, work and spend time in locally, and incorporate the public’s comments on what the new Local Development Plan will look like.
The Big Place Conversation will also directly support the “Let’s Talk Transport” engagement which looks at how to meet people’s needs for getting around, and links in with the Perth People Place project which is examining how to encourage sustainable methods of transport in Perth.
The next stop for the Big Place Conversation in 2023 will be Strathtay and Highland Perthshire in July 2023.
