Highland Council hails progress on new Evanton homes
The Highland Council has released an aerial photograph showing work underway to create 140 new homes in Evanton.
The project by the Highland Council and HHA is being constructed in several phases starting with 40 affordable units.
The image, taken by Adrian Meek, shows the first stage of development at the Teandallon site that will provide 18 homes for council rent, 16 homes for Mid-market rent and 6 homes for low-cost homeownership.
The project is due to complete the end of 2022 and notes of interest for the six homes for sale are welcomed which are being marketed by Highland Residential.
Funding support has been gained through Scottish Government Grant and the Inverness and Highland City-Region Deal.
This development is an exciting project involving both the public and private sector, with the tender being awarded to Compass Building & Construction Services.
The bird’s eye view of the site shows the impressive progress made to date and allows people to see the site shaping up.
Councillor Trish Robertson, chair of the Highland Council’s economy and infrastructure committee, said: “The new housing will be of a very high standard and will help to meet the growing needs of the community, so it is good to see work on site progress.”
HHA will be offering 16 homes for mid market rent, which will include both 2 and 3 bedroom homes.
