Thenue welcomes planning approval for Calton homes
Plans by Thenue Housing to develop 77 new homes in the Calton area of Glasgow have been given the green light.
The housing association will transform vacant land between Abercromby Street and Tobago Street into a mix of flats and houses, as well as one wheelchair accessible bungalow.
The plans also include 34 parking spaces.
A Thenue spokesman told Scottish Housing News: “Thenue Housing welcomes news that Glasgow City Council has given planning permission for a new development of 77 homes in Calton on the vacant land between Abercromby St and Tobago St.
“This is an important stage in the development of this site for Thenue and the local community.”
A planning statement submitted with the application read: “Well placed for local amenities including local grocers, public houses, community centre, gym and health centre, the site is approximately 5 minutes from Bridgeton town centre.
“The site connects the space between housing developments to the north west and south east and is bridged by a commercial belt from the north west to the south west.”
