Third phase of Community Budgeting funds available in West Dunbartonshire
Community groups in West Dunbartonshire are invited to apply for up to £5,000 of funding in the third phase of a Community Budgeting initiative.
West Dunbartonshire Council would like to hear from groups who are keen to invest in community projects that will improve the lives of residents.
Along with securing money to invest in valuable projects, groups will receive full support in completing their application from the council’s Communities Team and West Dunbartonshire Community Volunteer Services.
Phase 3 of Community Budgeting will work in the same way as previous rounds with residents having the opportunity to vote for their favourite ideas via the council’s website or at the combined Community Conference and Community Budgeting event to be held in February.
Councillor Caroline McAllister, deputy leader and spokesperson for community empowerment, said: “We are fully committed as a council to involving our residents in decision making, and Community Budgeting is a great example of how we can do this. Residents know better than anyone about what projects are needed in their areas and where they want to invest money to make the most difference.
“During Phase 2, 62 projects received a share of £311, 407 and we want to build on that. I would encourage organisations to contact the team and make a real difference to your area.”
