TIS chief executive chairs World Conference AGM
The International Union of Tenants World Conference (IUT) is held every three years with the objective to share experiences, debate the biggest challenges, and gain information from tenants’ movements across the globe.
TIS chief executive Ilene Campbell is amongst leaders from over 23 countries in attendance and delighted to take on the role of chair at the World Conference AGM.
This hugely inspiring event will focus on the 2030 Agenda, including the UN Sustainable Development Goals, and particularly ‘Sustainable Cities and Communities’.
Ms Campbell said: “The IUT World Conference promotes a shared goal of providing good quality, safe, affordable homes for tenants throughout the world.
“I am thrilled to be part of such an important, global housing conference. Specifically, I am looking forward to discussing the critical issues that face the housing sector now and in the future, and meeting influential, decision-makers.”
Sessions will be lively and interactive. Participants will hear about best practice and exchange knowledge on topical issues such as political campaigning by tenants’ associations, short term rental platforms, strategies against skyrocketing rents, and an opportunity to learn about rent negotiation systems around the world.
The event will take place in City Hall Vienna, Austria from Thursday 3rd – Friday 4th October 2019.
