Fiona Caniglia, executive director at Q Shelter, said: “We reached out to TPAS because of Scotland’s reputation in high quality tenant participation practices and the great work that TPAS Scotland does to support its members. The legislative framework augmented by investment in sector capacity is a shining example and we in Queensland have a lot to learn.
“Q Shelter and our stakeholders are looking forward to having Lesley as a speaker because we have so much to learn from the policy framework and practices that Scotland are known for. Lesley’s enthusiasm and generosity in wanting to exchange ideas, practices and learning will be a great boost to our thinking about the future of tenant participation in Queensland.”
Lesley Baird said: “I am delighted to be working with our colleagues in Q Shelter to share best practice and policy frameworks from Scotland. It is important for us to engage with international colleagues to raise the improve skills across the globe and engage with new collaboration partners. The time difference will be difficult, but for those that know me, I’m always up for a new challenge!”
