Tributes paid to former Badenoch and Strathspey councillor
The Highland Council has paid tribute to former Highland councillor Angus Gordon - who died peacefully on Saturday 3 March 2018 - for his loyalty and service in representing his local community.
Angus Gordon was elected as an independent councillor for The Highland Council in 1995 for the Dulnain Bridge Ward; and in 1999 and 2003 for the Strathspey South Ward.
During his terms of service he was area chairman of Badenoch and Strathspey, area chairman of resources, area chairman of the licensing board, and area chairman of housing.
Convenor of the Highland Council, Councillor Bill Lobban, said: “Angus was very well liked by his community whom he supported steadfastly over many years. He will be sorely missed. I extend my deepest sympathies and condolences to his family.”
Councillor Margaret Davidson, Highland Council leader, added: “Angus was a true gentleman who was always there when needed and served his community of South Strathspey with extreme loyalty. He was especially supportive to the people of Badenoch and Strathspey first and foremost.”
