Trust Housing development provides food and gift donations
Residents of Whitelaw Court in Dunfermline, a Trust Housing development, have organised a Giving Tree in aid of Home Start Dunfermline.
Donating Christmas Gifts for local families in need, which use the charity throughout the year.
In previous years, the residents within Whitelaw Court have collected and donated gifts for children. Due to the success of previous years, more companies have stepped up to donate this year and all the children’s wishes have been granted ahead of time for Christmas!
This year the residents focused on the parents of the families. The charity provided a list of ‘gender, age and interests’ of the parents and each one was put on a gift tag, residents took a tag and bought the gift then donated it to the office to be put together and will get dropped off to the charity base in time for their Christmas party.
The residents of Whitelaw Court have been extremely generous in their donations which has also seen a massive delivery of food donated to the local foodbank in Dunfermline.
Emma-Louise, the supported housing co-Ordinator at Whitelaw Court, said: “We have run this Given Tree for many years at Whitelaw Court, but we are delighted with the response in 2023. In the current cost-of-living crisis it has been more important than ever to receive and donate these donations from our colleagues and residents. We hope all of these gifts are well received by the families who receive them this Christmas, and hope they have a lovely festive time.”
Home Start Dunfermline commented: “We would like to say a huge thank you for the generous donation that we recently received. Donations like these help us ensure that all our families have food in their cupboards and presents under the tree at Christmas time. Without help, this isn’t guaranteed.”
