Trust staff, tenants and volunteers in double award win
June is shaping up to be a promising month for national housing, care and support provider, Trust Housing Association, after winning two awards.
Tenants were recently delighted to win the Most Inspiring Scrutiny Group at the Tenant Information Service (TIS) Inspire to Achieve national excellence awards.
The Trust ‘Customer Panel’ is a representative group of tenants who give an independent perspective on the quality of Trust’s performance across a whole range of issues, as well as carrying out assessments on themselves as a group. They received this accolade because of the practices and recommendations that they have put in place that others can learn from and which can help inspire future scrutiny.
Welcoming the award, Mary McInally, chair of the panel, said: “We work hard as a group to make sure we scrutinise the areas that tenant’s feel are important to help improve performance and service quality at Trust. Our commitment is to make the tenant’s voice heard and positively impact quality of life.”
Staff and volunteers also raised the bar by receiving the Volunteer Friendly Award for Trust’s North Lanarkshire developments. This award is a quality standard that recognises and rewards those organisations who are good at involving volunteers.
Margaret McSeveney, from Trust’s Airdrie development, said: “Our volunteers make such a positive difference, their contribution means we can enhance the activities that we provide to tenants. We’re thrilled to receive this award and want to say a huge thank you to all of our volunteers and the impact they have on tenants’ lives.”
