Senior figures of fire, safety and security contractor VWS (Video Watchman Systems) Ltd recently made the trip to two local community projects in Dundee to see first-hand the vital work that VWS Ltd’s donations have helped make possible.

CEO Graham McMonigle and Estimator and Surveyor Drew McMillan visited Hillcrest Futures’ Young People Service in Dundee in Baxter Park, before heading along to Just Bee Productions in the City Centre.

Hillcrest Futures’ Young People Service works with those ages 12-17 across a range of topics such as alcohol, drugs and sexual health. Just Bee Productions, based in Dundee’s Nethergate, utilises creative arts to enhance lives and provide opportunities for marginalised people.

VWS Ltd have donated a significant sum totalling thousands so far to the Hillcrest Foundation, which distributes funds to vital community groups and charities, with VWS Ltd having pledged another tranche of funding be handed over soon.

VWS Ltd provides a range of fire, safety and security services (FSS) and equipment to Hillcrest. The company had previously been contracted for five years and won the tender again in 2024. The company maintains all components relating to FSS across Hillcrest’s properties, and carries out installations, servicing and repairs.

Graham McMonigle, CEO of VWS Ltd, said: “As part of our ongoing support for the Hillcrest Foundation, I had the privilege of attending Hillcrest Future’s Young People’s Service and Just Bee Productions in the City Centre of Dundee. It is truly inspiring to witness the positive impact that the dedicated efforts of all staff members are having on the community.

“VWS is committed to annually contributing to the Hillcrest Foundation, and we were fortunate to observe the tangible benefits of our support. We have been collaborating with Hillcrest for over six years now, and it has been a privilege to contribute to services such as this and others.”

Steven Elder, Hillcrest Foundation chairperson, added: “The Hillcrest Foundation has become a valuable asset for communities across Scotland, funding a huge range of vital projects and initiatives.

“It’s funding such as that kindly donated by VWS Ltd that enables the Foundation to support these charities and community groups, so we’re hugely grateful for any funding received. We’re also delighted that this money can make such a difference, going directly into the community to support those who need it most.”
