Viewpoint holds latest Health and Wellbeing event
Together with invaluable help from the tenants’ Social Committee who provided excellent food, catering and laughs, a variety of stalls were held by health and wellbeing providers.
In attendance were people from the City of Edinburgh Council Health & Social Care, City of Edinburgh Libraries, Impact Arts with a display of goods made by older adults at the Craft Cafés, Mike Ellis, a well-known face in some of Viewpoint’s complexes with some his volunteers talking about taking up computing in older age.
Massages and health checks provided by the Centre for Health and Wellbeing were much in demand as well with the back massages going down particularly well. Home Angels were also there providing information on home care.
LOOPS (Local Opportunities for Older People), which provides a service to older people throughout Edinburgh, had a stall advising of various local interest groups the tenants could attend in Stockbridge. They are also liaising with Viewpoint to see where it can offer opportunities for LOOPS clients.
Viewpoint gave particular thanks to Brandy, Fay and Hazel for their hard work throughout a great afternoon.
