Argyll and Bute Council is inviting feedback on the proposed vision, priorities and actions that have been developed for the local housing strategy.

Policy lead for housing, Councillor Robin Currie, said: “All Scottish local authorities are required to prepare a local housing strategy every five years. This must take into account the views of local residents, partners and stakeholders.

“It is therefore extremely important that our communities are well represented. The strategy will set out actions and targets to improve the standard and condition of housing, as well as providing clear direction for housing investment.

“It will enable the council to get a better understanding of the need and demand for all types of housing, now and in the future, including the range of specialist accommodation required for housing support, and for aids and adaptations to enable independent living.

“The report will help to identify any measures needed to improve energy efficiency, and the problems of fuel poverty which affects a significant number of local households. It is therefore vital that the people of Argyll and Bute have their views and opinions heard so that changes can happen.”
