Views sought on Dundee housing proposals
People are being encouraged to give their views on a new housing development which is being planned for Alexander Street in Dundee at an event on Thursday.
Dundee City Council and Hillcrest Housing Association have formed a partnership to build social rented houses on land south/east of Alexander Street.
While plans are currently being discussed between the organisations, and are subject to change, people will get a chance to give their views by attending an exhibition at the MAXwell Centre, Carnegie Street.
Housing convenor John Alexander said: “I’m extremely pleased that the council is working with Hillcrest Housing Association, bringing forward housing redevelopment proposals for the land at Alexander Street. This will provide quality new affordable housing and continue the ongoing regeneration of the Hilltown.
“This is good news for residents and businesses alike and I’m sure that locals will be very keen to see these proposals move forward, breathing life into the area and introducing much needed housing.”
Hillcrest Housing Association’s director of development and new business, David Zwirlein, said: “We are delighted to be working in partnership with Dundee City Council on the exciting redevelopment of the land at Alexander Street.
“The event on Thursday is a great opportunity for locals to take their first look at the plans and to discuss these ongoing proposals which promise to bring much needed quality affordable housing to the Hilltown area.”
The event will run between 2pm and 8pm on Thursday April 30.
