Volunteers praised for hard work at Bield
A housing development in Alexandria has celebrated the vital role volunteers play in helping to provide support for its tenants.
Oakbank, joins 35 Bield developments across the country thanking the hardworking volunteers that selflessly put others first, as part of Volunteers’ Week.
Care and housing provider Bield was happy to put on an array of 35 celebrations across its developments to show appreciation for the volunteers who play a part in the lives of its tenants.
Oakbank in Alexandria celebrated by welcoming the town’s local MSP, Jackie Baillie, and Social Club chairperson Michael Docherty to present certificates to volunteers. They also held a raffle, a tombola and treated guests to soup, home baking and hot drinks.
Ruth Bowen, volunteer development manager at Bield, said: “The work our volunteers do at Bield is invaluable to our tenants and the community.
“We are so appreciative to everyone who gets involved with us and helps improve the lives of everyone across the country. The tenants, their families and our staff rely on those individuals who give up their time to lend a hand to others and we are so grateful for them.
“It is great to show them how much we value their hard work by taking part in Volunteers Week and we hope they have enjoyed the celebrations.”
