Volunteers sought to help the good times grow at Bield
A Bield retirement housing development in Milngavie is looking for friendly and enthusiastic volunteers to spend a couple of hours each month helping out with social activities.
The appeal comes as a result of the success of previous social activities held at Oakburn Gardens development, which allowed tenants the chance to socialise and interact with their neighbours.
Anita Jones, scheme manager at the development, believes that activities are vital for encouraging social interaction between tenants.
She said: “All of our previous social events have been a knock-out success among tenants at Oakburn Gardens.
“Many people in the development look forward to the chance to socialise and chat with their neighbours, which is why we are so keen to expand the tenants’ social activity to things such as bingo sessions, race afternoons and games evenings.
“We are always looking for ways to enrich the lives of our tenants and the positive feedback we have received regarding various events proves that social activities are a great way to get tenants out and about.
“We are constantly striving to adapt, evolve and enhance the social activities available to our tenants and we know that volunteers are key to ensuring that we can do this.”
Oakburn Gardens is looking for volunteers who are available on a Monday afternoon and Thursday morning but hope to go on to expand their activities to other days of the week.
