A new director for Wales has been appointed by the Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH). Kevin Howell, who is currently community regeneration manager at Newydd Housing Association, will take up his new role in the first few months of 2016.
Kevin is a CIH member and has worked in the housing sector in Wales for more than 10 years. He has previously worked at Community Housing Cymru and in a range of other housing roles across Wales. He is currently vice chair of Tai Pawb and a board member at Barry Communities First.
Kevin said: “I’m delighted to be appointed as CIH Cymru director and to get the chance to work with the dedicated team, the board and our members to help make sure our housing system in Wales is meeting the ever-increasing demand.
“I’m passionate about the housing sector and I’m especially keen to focus on attracting new and diverse talent and on supporting existing professionals to improve their skills in this fast-changing environment. I cannot wait to get started in this exciting role in 2016.”
CIH Cymru board chair Stephen Cook added: “We’re really excited to welcome Kevin to the team – I know he has the energy and enthusiasm we need to make sure we are providing the best possible support to housing professionals across Wales.”
