Warmworks will be responsible for administering the Heat and Energy Efficient Scotland: Area-Based Scheme (HEES:ABS) on behalf of Comhairle nan Eilean Siar.

Warmworks has more than eight years’ experience of installing energy efficiency improvements in more than 35,000 homes across Scotland, including across the Western Isles. This new scheme is targeted towards low-income households whose home has a low energy efficiency rating.

Since 2020, Warmworks has been delivering a similar Area-Based Scheme in Orkney. In the last year alone, it installed almost 240 energy efficiency improvements to more than 170 Orkney homes. This support has seen Orkney homeowners save an average of £728 against their annual energy bills.

Customers who qualify for the scheme will receive an initial survey of their home, which will be carried out by Warmworks’ qualified and local surveyors. After this, a bespoke package of insulation improvements will be offered that is aimed at helping homes optimise their energy efficiency for years to come.
