Waverley Housing appoints new chief executive
Waverley Housing has announced that Fraser Kelly will be joining the company as its new chief executive in January 2018 following the retiral of current chief executive Margaret Ross.
Fraser is chief executive of Social Enterprise Scotland and will bring with him over 25 years’ experience in the private, public and not-for-profit sectors. This has helped him develop a clear understanding of the opportunities and challenges facing rural communities. He has a long and productive track record of working with the housing sector.
David Gordon, chair of Waverley Housing, said: “We are delighted to be welcoming Fraser as our new chief executive and are confident that he has the necessary experience and skills to take Waverley forward to meet the challenges facing the housing sector in the Scottish Borders.”
Fraser said: “I am, in equal amounts, delighted, and excited to be joining the Waverley Housing team. The opportunity to be part of a well governed, well managed and high performing organisation whilst allowing me to live and work in the Scottish Borders is quite fantastic. I am looking forward to it enormously.”
Retiring chief executive Margaret Ross added: “We undertook a rigorous selection process and I am delighted that we have appointed such a high calibre candidate in Fraser and am confident that he is well equipped to lead Waverley into the next chapter and strengthen our position as a social housing provider within the Scottish Borders. I can retire knowing that Waverley is in safe hands.”
