Waverley Housing hosts tenants’ open day
Information stands, manned by Waverley’s own teams, offered advice on benefits; repairs; payments and housing matters.
A few partner organisations set up stall to offer their advice too, including Healthy Living Network; Burnfoot Community Hub; Home Basics and Scottish Fire & Rescue Service who also proved a great hit with the younger tenants when one of their big red fire engines parked up outside the front doors.
To celebrate micro-businesses in the Borders, the reception area was turned into a pop-up shop, with various tables showcasing delightful crafts and giftware all hand-made by talented Waverley tenants.
With free goody bag, free refreshments with delicious cakes from the Almond Tree Café, free face painting and colouring competition for younger visitors and a fun-filled prize bingo game for those not so young, everyone was catered for and much fun was had by all on the day.
