Wellhouse calls for voluntary committee members to improve lives of those in Easterhouse
Easterhouse-based Wellhouse Housing Association is calling for Voluntary Management Committee Members to help improve the lives of local residents.
The Glasgow housing association is looking for nominees from across Glasgow who have an interest in the Greater Easterhouse area of the city, alongside a commitment to improving the area and opportunities for those who live there, as well as wider social impact in social housing.
Successful applicants will work as a key part of the committee with 12 other members. WHA will provide training and development opportunities throughout the year to help management committee members work collaboratively to deliver on strategic objectives which include:
- The provision of good quality homes
- The delivery of excellent services
- Anticipate, understand and respond to local needs
- Foster an attractive, successful and thriving community
- Maintain good governance and financial management
- Value and invest in our people
Chair of Wellhouse Housing Association, Maureen Morris, will be leading the committee. She said: “We are looking for a committed and determined voluntary Management Committee Member to bolster our team of energetic and forward-thinking members.
“Our goal as an organisation is to make Wellhouse the ‘place to be’ by creating a safe, attractive and vibrant community where people are proud to live. The perfect candidate will be someone who is seeking an opportunity to help others and make a difference in their lives.”
Candidates can apply via https://wellhouseha.org.uk/committee for the role which runs from April 2022 until the AGM in September 2022 where members can stand for election to the committee. WHA is particularly keen to hear from individuals with knowledge and skills in the following areas:
- Finance
- All aspects of housing development
- Legal
- Community development/ wider role
