Wellhouse Housing Association appoints new director
Wellhouse Housing Association has announced the appointment of Martin Wilkie-McFarlane as new chief officer from the end of May.
Martin has thirty years’ experience, chiefly in the not for profit housing sector, in local government, housing associations and community projects in both Scotland and London, complemented by private sector work in France and a national role with Shelter Scotland. He grew up in social housing to the East of Glasgow and has had a lifelong commitment to social justice.
Maureen Morris, chair of Wellhouse, said Martin was chosen for his track record in change management, business development, stakeholder management, interpersonal skills, staff management and leadership.
Maureen said: “Everyone at Wellhouse has contributed to huge improvements at the Association in the last year. I’m sure Martin is the right leader, both to consolidate these improvements and to develop Wellhouse as an even better force for good in our community.”
Martin added: “I am dedicated to making a difference in my career and helping others to increase their capacity and resilience. I believe in supporting my staff team to achieve their best. I consider that a clear focus on vision and values, reputational enhancement, good governance, transparency and sound financial management are crucial to organisational success.
“I am very much looking forward to joining Wellhouse HA and working on a positive future direction for us all.”
