Wellhouse Housing Association hosts four Federations in Glasgow
Wellhouse Housing Association welcomed the National Housing Federations of Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and England last week to discuss tenant led boards and the possible impact of the full roll out of Universal Credit (UC) as part of a UK nations information sharing event.
The Federations visited a number of sites and social landlords in Glasgow, including the visit to Easterhouse where a very lively Q&A took place.
Wellhouse chair, Maureen Morris, said: “We are really grateful the Federations asked to visit Wellhouse and see our ongoing work to make it the Place to Be and how we achieve that though tenant-led local democracy.”
Colin Cameron, the chair of Easterhouse Housing & Regeneration Alliance, added: “The local housing associations in Easterhouse & Barlanark do have concerns about the impact of the full roll out of UC on our tenants but have been preparing for this for some time – any tenant with any worries should speak to their landlord and we will ensure they get the best possible advice and assistance.”
