West Dunbartonshire residents encouraged to bid for community funding
Residents are being invited to bid in the second round of West Dunbartonshire Council’s Community Budgeting to transform their local area.
Up to £25,000 of capital funding is available in each of the 17 Your Community areas, with community groups and organisations invited to bid for up to £10,000 for individual community projects to improve their local neighbourhood within West Dunbartonshire.
Residents will have full support in completing their applications from the council’s Communities Team and West Dunbartonshire Community Volunteer Services. The closing date for applications is Sunday, 2 April 2017.
To find out more about the fund, get information on eligibility and how to apply come along to a drop in session on one of the following dates and times:
Once all applications have been considered residents will vote for their preferred bids during community budgeting events which will be held in May and the successful projects will be announced at the events.
Chair of Community Planning West Dunbartonshire and council leader Councillor Martin Rooney, said: “We had a great response to the first round and we are seeing the funding making great benefit to communities across West Dunbartonshire. I would encourage all residents, particularly those living in Clydebank East , Faifley, Linvale & Drumry and Silverton & Overtoun who still have the full £25,000 available, to get together and come up with ideas on how they could spend the money in their area to improve their community.
Members of the Communities team will be on-hand to help with residents with project ideas and also offer assistance with applications. In addition if you have an idea that does not fit with the community funding budgeting, officers can offer advice on other streams of funding that could be accessed instead.”
