West Dunbartonshire Council’s new five-year Local Housing Strategy and investment plan is currently being developed, and residents have the chance to shape it by submitting their comments and ideas.

The Strategy, which will be submitted to the Scottish Government in November, sets out plans for housing investment, housing need and homelessness across West Dunbartonshire and is refreshed every two years.

Councillor David McBride, convener of the council’s housing and communities committee, said: “As a council we are committed to improving local housing and are making excellent progress, with new build development completed in Haldane, Dumbarton and Clydebank, more than 800 new homes set for Queens Quay and 9,400 of our homes meeting the Scottish Housing Quality Standard last year. I hope as many people as possible will have their say on housing in West Dunbartonshire for the next five years.”

Councillor Lawrence O’Neill, depute convener, added: “It is important that our investment plan and strategy reflects the needs of our communities, and for that reason we want to hear from as many residents as possible before these documents are finalised. I would urge anyone to get in touch and share their views.”
