West Linton residents celebrate milestone anniversary
Residents at a sheltered housing complex in West Linton were treated to a special lunch to celebrate a major anniversary in the history of the site.
To celebrate 30 years since the site at Broomlee Court was opened in 1986, the Broomlee Court Social Committee organised a celebratory lunch for the residents, complete with birthday decorations and a special cake.
Mrs Helen Forson who has lived at Broomlee Court for almost 18 years cut the personalised birthday cake, saying she was “honoured”.
Mrs Forson went on to say: “Broomlee Court Social Committee have done such a great job organising today’s party, it has been a lovely excuse to get together for some delicious food and share stories about our lives here over the years.”
Hanover’s director of customer services, Chris Milburn, attended the celebrations and presented Mrs Forson with a bouquet of flowers, congratulating the site and its resident’s on reaching this milestone.
He said: “I am delighted to be here today to celebrate with the residents at Broomlee Court on their special day. There is a brilliant sense of community here and the Broomlee Court Social Committee have done a spectacular job organising today’s celebrations.”
Dorothy Wilkie, Broomlee Court’s development manager, said: “My thanks to everyone involved in organising such a fantastic lunch for our 30th anniversary. It is lovely to be able to celebrate all together and we were delighted Chris was able to attend.”
The lunch took place last week at Broomlee Court, West Linton.
