West of Scotland Housing Association completes Broomhouse transfer
West of Scotland Housing Association (WSHA) has announced the transfer of Broomhouse Housing Association which will see WSHA provide a housing service to 98 new tenants.
The transfer, which took place on 30th November, is a result of Broomhouse recognising the importance of providing tenants with a range of services in a cost effective way. After a full review of their long-term business plan, they approached WSHA who identified a number of benefits of agreeing to the transfer including the ability to make a difference to the lives of more tenants.
WSHA has been visiting new tenants to welcome them to the Association and give them information on the wide range of support services available to them such as welfare rights, energy advice and Handy Person.
Lynne Donnelly, chief executive of WSHA, said: “We are delighted to have completed the transfer of Broomhouse Housing Association and hope our new tenants will see the benefits of being part of our Association. Like WSHA, Broomhouse has a strong history and we look forward to continuing this legacy and delivering a first-class service to our tenants. WSHA offers a wide range of services to improve lives and communities and we are happy we can extend our reach.”
James Paterson, chair of Broomhouse Housing Association, added: “As a Committee we wanted to secure the future for our tenants and increase services through the responsible management of risk. We chose West of Scotland Housing Association because we feel they will continue the positive work we at Broomhouse have carried out over the past 29 years but in addition they will be able to increase the level of services available, which will be of great benefit to current and future tenants.”
